Slash and MXR have released the MXR Slash Signature Talk Box, a numbered run of just 150 units sold exclusively through Reverb. The design starts from the classic Heil-style talk-box concept but uses an upgraded loudspeaker selected by Slash and a redesigned conical tube adapter intended to improve airflow, clarity and articulation.

The Candy Apple Red unit is priced at $499.99. Reverb's September 15 announcement ties the design directly to an effect Slash has used for decades, tracing his interest back to Peter Frampton, Jeff Beck and Aerosmith. Rather than simulating vowel filtering electronically, the talk box sends the guitar sound through a tube so the player's mouth physically shapes the result.

Why it matters

A 150-unit run makes this a genuinely scarce signature release, while the revised speaker and tube path address the physical parts of a talk box that most directly affect volume and articulation.
